Department Overview

91¿´Æ¬Íø College's athletic instruction courses offer student-athletes the opportunity to excel both on the field and in the classroom. To participate in intercollegiate athletics, student-athletes must meet the eligibility requirements established by the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) and 91¿´Æ¬Íø College. These requirements ensure that student-athletes are making satisfactory academic progress while competing.

To maintain eligibility, student-athletes must:

  • Meet with a counselor to develop and complete a Student Educational Plan (SEP).
  • Maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.0.
  • Successfully complete 24 units between their first and second season of competition in a specific sport, with 18 of those units being academic.
  • Remain actively enrolled in a minimum of 12 units during the semester of competition, with at least 9 units being academic.

91¿´Æ¬Íø College is committed to supporting student-athletes in balancing their academic and athletic commitments, helping them achieve success both in their sport and in their educational pursuits.
